Math Rotations Offer Instruction and Practice

Math Rotations Offer Instruction and Practice
Central

In Jamie Mette's fourth grade class at Central Elementary School, the students have daily math rotations that help strengthen their math skills.

This week, the focus was on division strategies, reinforcing number sense and progressing through individual math pathways.

To support these goals, students rotated through a variety of activities, with targeted support from Central's multilingual teacher, classroom teacher and aide.

Both Ms. Matjoulis and Mrs. Mette supported the focused skill of division through hands-on learning, with Ms. Matjoulis using math versatiles and Mrs. Mette utilizing whiteboards.

Meanwhile, Mr. Anthony reinforced number sense by working with students on a math packet and students not in guided groups worked independently on their individual pathways using iReady Math, allowing them to progress at their own pace and practice key skills.

Mrs. Mette explained that each station is designed to provide targeted instruction and practice, helping students deepen their understanding of important math concepts in a variety of ways.
