Exploring Rhythm and Movement in Music Class

Exploring Rhythm and Movement in Music Class
Central

Mrs. Katie Tran's kindergarteners at Central Elementary School enjoyed an energetic music class, exploring both rhythm and movement.

The students began the class by dancing to Mrs. Tran's beat, jumping around the room while playfully tapping the rhythm on their heads and stomachs.

Next, they followed an animated song with a steady beat, mirroring the actions of touching their noses, counting and coordinating their hands and feet.

Then, during the song "The March of the Ducks," the students sat down on the floor and used their hands and legs to keep the marching rhythm.

The grand finale of the class came when Mrs. Tran handed out colorful streamers, or rhythm ribbons.

The students' excitement was evident as they moved the streamers through the air to the beat of the music!
