Dear District 62 families and Community,

I hope you and your children have enjoyed a wonderful and restful summer. It is with great pleasure that I welcome you all back to the 2026-2027 school year.
If you have driven by our schools, you may have noticed a bit of construction at our sites. This summer and past school year has been a historic one for District 62. We are currently undergoing significant additions and enhancements across the district as we prepare for full day kindergarten. This has been a long-awaited goal for our school district and watching these new and innovative learning spaces take shape is remarkable.

We are already seeing the impact of this investment. This July, Iroquois Community School opened its doors to our very first full day kindergarten classrooms.

We are especially proud of the important steps we have taken to strengthen special education services across our district and expand opportunities for students with disabilities. This year, additional special education services are available across all of our elementary schools, allowing more students to receive the individualized support they need while remaining connected to their home schools and school communities.

A man in a white shirt and tie stands in front of a colorful playground structure with a red-roofed gazebo in the background, surrounded by trees.

As we begin this new school year, we remain committed to creating learning environments where every child feels seen, valued and inspired.

Two women and a man are outside, wearing eclipse glasses and looking amazed.

We have also expanded specialized programming to Forest and Orchard Place and are excited to introduce STRIVE (Structured Teaching for Readiness, Independence, Voice & Engagement) as the new name for our former Educational Life Skills program. These changes reflect our continued commitment to building a more inclusive continuum of services where every student has access to meaningful learning opportunities, strong relationships and a true sense of belonging.

Thank you for your support of Community Consolidated School District 62. This is going to be a great school year!
